The soul of a bicycle is hidden in its frame. When we brought the Carraro BIG 912 D to our testing center, the first thing that caught our eye was the Aluminum 1.1/8″-1.1/2″ Triple Butted Hydroformed frame structure.

Why Triple Butted and Hydroformed?

By making the points of high stress thicker and the low-stress middle sections thinner (Triple Butting), weight is minimized while durability is maximized. Thanks to Hydroforming technology, the aerodynamic and aesthetic forms given to the tubes reduce flex during the ride, allowing you to transfer your power directly to the wheels.

Shimano Deore M4100 Hydraulic Disc Brakes

In our technical evaluations, we found that the modulation capability (the feedback of braking feel to the finger) of the M4100 brake levers is very successful. The RT54 rotors, 180mm at the front and 160mm at the rear, provide stable stopping power without overheating issues during long descents.

Tubeless Ready Rims and Schwalbe Tires

The bike is equipped with Rodi IIS Ryot 25 double-walled aluminum rims. The biggest advantage of these rims is that they are Tubeless Ready. By switching to a tubeless system, you can save weight and prevent “snake bite” punctures. The Schwalbe Tough Tom 2.25 tires exhibit superior grip on loose surfaces (dirt, mud) with their knobby tread pattern.
